  • For consultations, the rates are the same as those charged in mainland France
  • The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is valid in Martinique for French and European nationals
  • For visitors from outside the European Union, travel insurance is strongly recommended before departure
  • Consult your GP for a personalised vaccination schedule
  • Make sure you have an effective mosquito repellent
  • Make sure you bring enough of your prescriptions and medicines with you
  • Sun protection with an SPF of 50+ is essential

There are pharmacies in every town in southern Martinique. Outside opening hours, an on-call pharmacy service is available; please ask at your accommodation or check the notices displayed in pharmacies.
