La Savane des Esclaves
A museum dedicated to preserving Martinican heritage, founded by Gilbert Larose, a history enthusiast.
A living space featuring recreations of traditional dwellings typical of Maroon villages. Through its gardens, exhibits, and workshops, the site highlights ancestral know-how, traditional agriculture, and the ingenuity of people of African descent in the face of adversity. In addition to its educational value, it invites visitors to reflect on the history of slavery, while celebrating the resilience, creativity, and dignity of those who have helped shape Martinican identity.
