Eglise Saint Michel
Le François
A modern church located right across from City Hall
On Tuesday, December 14, 1694, under the leadership of Father Labat, the parish was established, and the next day a small chapel was built for the first Mass. From 1695 to 2011, this church—which had been damaged several times by the ravages of time—was rebuilt seven times. Each new structure reflects the evolution of architecture over the centuries, blending tradition and innovation. The weather vane on the bell tower depicts a two-sailed yawl.
